Litres of water wasted after pipe burst in Bryanston

BRYANSTON – There was no explanation from Joburg Water after litres of water was wasted along Westbourne Road in Byranston following a burst water pipe.

Ward 103 councillor, Vincent Earp said he reported the burst to officials. “We have lost thousands of litres of water,” said Earp.

“This is shocking, especially when we all know that we have scarce water resources.”

He said he was later informed that the valves at the Bryanston reservoir were being shut down so that repairs to the damaged pipe could commence. Earp added that the burst pipe was eventually fixed, but it took Joburg Water a long time to go to the site and attend to the problem.
