Comments varied from people who saw nothing wrong with the school suspending a disobedient pupil, to others who felt there were other more important issues to tackle at the school, and boys with long hair was not one of them.

Heather Darby wrote: “School life is about discipline and understanding rules, at this level they may seem petty but in the grown-up world, without adherence to rules you have chaos.”
Antonella Strömberg wrote: “Whatever happened to freedom of expression? If the guy wants to have long hair, let him. Girls do. Why not guys?”
