Donate shoes for children

BRYANSTON - Glamour Shoes in Bryanston has partnered with non-profit organisation Afrika Tikkun for a fantastic initiative and is calling on the local community to take part.

The shop owner, Tessa Goott, has placed donation boxes for the Make a Learner Smile initiative in her stores in Coachman’s Crossing and Hobart Grove Centre.

Goott said the initiative calls on local residents to drop off a wearable pair of shoes that can be donated to disadvantaged children. She said the idea for the initiative came about through the store’s place in the community and her need to give back to the local community.

The brightly decorated donation bins can be found at the stores in Bryanston, and she said she hoped community associations and schools will get involved.

The shoes will be distributed through Afrika Tikkun to children in Diepsloot, Alexandra, Orange Farm and the Johannesburg CBD.
