MTN and Microsoft bring cloud solution

STRATHAVON – Guests were invited to Capital Moloko in Strathavon to attend the announcement that MTN and Microsoft have entered into a relationship to offer their customers a Cloud solution.

Cloud solution is the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. The Cloud solution will be serviced from MTN’s data centres and the platform will be powered by Microsoft’s technology.

“We want to take care of all information technology complexities,” said Mteto Nyati, CEO of MTN South Africa.

“We’re talking about digital inclusion. The devices we carry around must give us access to connect people to services around them.”

To achieve this, Nyati said MTN identified companies such as Microsoft as a partner. “We need to look beyond MTN and reach out to partners like Microsoft,” he added.

“The problems we have to solve require us to form such partnerships.”

Microsoft South Africa managing director, Zoaib Hoosen said the Cloud infrastructure had changed the world for their clients.

“Looking at the challenges our customers are facing, this partnership goes a long way in helping our customers,” added Hoosen.

Alpheus Mangale, MTN chief enterprise business officer said his company had developed tailored and bespoke solutions.

“We’ve been making strides to make the service one our customers can rely on,” added Mangale.

“We’ll continue to be innovative for the benefit of our clients. Microsoft is a leader in the Cloud space.”
