Paws R Us highlights Homeless Animal Day

BRYANSTON - Various schools around Gauteng, including Bryneven Primary School, have joined forces with animal rescue organisation, Paws R Us, to raise awareness about homeless animals ahead of International Homeless Animal Day on 15 August.

 

The Bryanston school, along with seven other schools, will support the organisation by hosting a civvies day at their schools, all to raise funds for the organisation’s 8 Schools, 8 Hours, 1 Global Cause campaign.

Bryony van Niekerk, spokesperson of Paws R Us, explained that the campaign was part of a global initiative ahead of the international day which was aimed at highlighting the plight of the homeless animals, especially in South Africa.

She added that two other schools in Johannesburg would take part in the campaign, namely Eden Glen Primary School and Orkney High School.

Paws R Us is a registered non-profit organisation, which is focused on the rescue and re-homing of unwanted, abused and neglected companion animals.
