Gautrain bus changes

JOBURG – Some Gautrain bus commuters will have to reschedule their daily trips as the bus service revises its routes and discontinues some.

Gautrain spokesperson Kesagee Nayager said the bus service revised their routes in order to effectively cover high demand routes and to improve the efficiency of the bus service.

Nayager said a decision had been taken to implement schedule changes and to discontinue the P4 Groenkloof and H6 Queenswood routes. “These routes will be discontinued as of 29 August this year. Final service on these routes will, therefore, be on 28 August,” Nayager said.

The spokesperson said the current Pretoria Station (P4 Groenkloof) route will be replaced by an alternate P6 Unisa route and that this new route will accommodate commuters travelling to and from Unisa. Nayager stated that in terms of timetable changes, all routes currently running at 24-minute intervals will now run every 20 minutes during peak hours.

“And again, based on demand, the Rosebank RB5 Killarney and Rhodesfield RF2 Emperors Palace departure intervals will change from every 12 minutes to 20 minutes during peak hours,” the spokesperson said.

During peak hours and in keeping with train schedules, buses will now leave at 10-minute intervals from the following stations:

The following routes will be changed slightly to be more effective for passengers:
