There were reportedly four cars involved in the accident.
According to Emer-G-Med there were injuries and some of the accident victims were children.
There are still heavy delays in the area and motorists are urged to avoid William Nicol Drive, if possible.
On 11 August 16 people were injured at a taxi collision at the same intersection.
