ER24 gives a demonstration

WOODMEAD - ER24 held a spectacular rescue demonstration which included a helicopter and a mangled car in the parking lot of the Woodmead Retail Park.

The demonstration acted as an invitation to the general public to take a sneak peek into the processes undertaken by the ER24 team in emergency situations. The event grabbed the eye of local shoppers as the team landed a helicopter in the shopping centre parking lot.

ER24 spokesperson, Russell Meiring, said the event was a way for the organisation to show the public what they do on a day-to-day basis.

“We just want to show the public that our presence is very strong in all areas, from our paramedical support to our rescue capabilities,” he said.

Gavin Nichols, of the Queensland Ambulance Service in Australia who took time during a visit to South Africa to attend the demonstration, said he was greatly impressed by the ambulance and emergency services in South Africa.
