Lieutenant Colonel Andre de Klerk from Sandton police, said the suspects travel in teams of two or four at a time.
“They change registration plates,” he alleged. He also said sometimes the vehicle has a tow bar and in other incidents it does not. The vehicle mainly operates in Sandton, but has also been spotted in Melrose and Craighall.
De Klerk said the suspects drive around allegedly scouting potential victims and commit driveway and house robberies. “The suspects are armed with handguns, they have already committed a series of robberies,” he alleged.
De Klerk said the latest house robbery conducted by the suspects was on 23 July on Linden Road in Sandton.
