SuperSport United striker alleges a police officer robbed him of money, jackets and shoes

WOODMEAD - According to a report, striker for SuperSport United, Bradley Grobler (27) alleged he was robbed by a police officer in Woodmead on 30 July.

Soccer Laduma reported that Grobler said the officer signalled for him to pull his vehicle to the side of the road before accusing him of stealing drugs. As the officer searched his vehicle, Grobler reportedly admitted to the officer that he was driving without his driver’s license and said the officer should issue him with a fine. Grobler alleged the officer told him that he should “sort out nicely” or risk being arrested. Allegedly the officer was aware Grobler was a soccer player.

According to the report, Grobler further alleged the officer took between R1 000 and R2 000 from his wallet, two jackets and a pair of his shoes.

Sandton Chronicle is investigating these allegations and will update this story as more information comes to light.
