Jazz fundraiser helps out guide dogs

SANDTON - The South African Guide-Dogs Association invites local residents to enjoy an afternoon of mingling while enjoying soothing jazz at their Jazzin' Around fundraiser at the Auto and General Theatre on the Square, Sandton, on 10 August.

Marketing manager of the association, Pieter van Niekerk said, “The fabulous South African singer, entertainer and pianist Cat Simoni will team up with some of South Africa’s most outstanding jazz musicians on the public holiday after Women’s Day.”

The association will host two performances at 2.30pm and 5.30pm with Simoni performing a plethora of jazz standards, swing, popular hits and show tunes.

He added that all proceeds will go towards providing people who are visually or physically impaired with the gift of independence, mobility and companionship.

Van Niekerk concluded, “Use the public holiday for a good cause while joining us for great entertainment.”

Tickets for each show are R175. Booking is essential.
