Soup for the hungry

SUNNINGHILL - Junior Colleges Sunninghill recently gave back to underprivileged children in Tembisa when they spent a week making soup to fill the kids' bellies and get their bodies warm.

The kind act was part of the college’s contribution to Mandela Day on 18 July, and the pupils travelled to Ubuhle Bezue Children’s Home where they were welcomed with open arms. The home takes care of 52 orphaned children.

Principal of the college, Tabitha Cairns said, “We believe that every little bit of humanity helps. We would like to inspire and encourage the community to also extend a much-needed helping hand.”
