Spokesperson for GoForChess, Dominique Hurter said, “The teachers will learn how to teach chess to students. That will then help the kids to perform better academically.
“The teachers plant the seed of chess, which will build up to the community joining in.”
Teachers from all over Johannesburg are invited to learn about the wonderful game with the workshop running from 9.30am to 5pm. The entrance fee is R1 250 per delegate.
Hurter concluded, “Chess is important at school level because it empowers children and helps them develop important attributes. Academically, chess is an excellent co-pilot to achieve success.”
