Doppio gives back to the animals

MARLBORO GARDENS - The staff and animals at the Sandton SPCA were treated to a delicious lunch and donations when Doppio Zero Sandton made their way to the organisation’s offices on 17 July.

The restaurant, with the help of Michael Mount Waldorf School in Bryanston, donated a variety of food and blankets for the animals at the SPCA while also socialising with the staff and animals.

Spokesperson for Doppio Zero Sandton City, Carmencita Walsh said, “We wanted to find a non-profit organisation to support. So we decided to come out and help the furry friends here at the SPCA.

“It’s also a staff appreciation. We want to spend some time with the staff after a hard day’s work while giving them some great pizza.”

The restaurant had been working with Michael Mount Waldorf School for four weeks, urging students, parents and customers to gather donations for the SPCA.

General manager at the Sandton SPCA, Candice Scorer, said they appreciated the restaurant’s donation and wonderful treatment of their staff. She added, “We cover a wide area and don’t receive government funding. So days like this, are really special and are a great help to our organisation.”
