Water education comes to Sandton

SANDTON - To promote environmental sustainability, the World Wide Fund for Nature SA (WWF-SA) and Sanlam have placed a Journey of Water installation in Sandton City Shopping Centre to educate shoppers on the ultimate source of water.

The educational installation will be at the shopping centre until 20 July, and shoppers and residents can interact with it to fully understand the journey of water while seeing how dependent their lives are on this significant natural resource. Personnel will be on hand to explain the installation.

People are invited to visit the Journey of Water website and social media platforms. This initiative, together with the website www.journeyofwater.co.za and #journeyofwater supports the ongoing drive to educate the South African public on what they can do to help conserve this precious resource.

“The call to secure water for long-term economic and social benefit should not only rise to the top of businesses’ sustainability initiatives, but it should get more attention from everyone who has the privilege to have access to the benefits of water while they still do and are able to do something about it,” said Francois Adriaan, head of corporate affairs at Sanlam.
