Makro rolls out pick-up lockers

FOURWAYS - Buying from Makro is now more convenient and accessible than ever, thanks to Makro Pick-Up lockers.

In November last year, the option to collect Makro online orders at lockers was announced as a means to extend delivery options for customers. This new delivery option is in addition to the home delivery and in-store click and collect solutions that Makro already offers. The field test phase for the innovative online solution has officially begun at selected Sasol forecourts in Gauteng.

Makro CEO Doug Jones said, “The added option of collecting your online purchase from a secure locker at a location close to you, or on your way during daily travels, has amplified the convenience of online shopping. We have and continue to expand our online range and hope that the combination of convenience and additional variety will make our customers’ lives easier.

“We are not limited to what our store can hold – the site now boasts 20 000 products that can be purchased online, with a high percentage of products eligible for delivery to a locker – and customers are no longer limited to two choices for delivery.”

The newest pick-up partner is McDonald’s. Makro announced their new partnership to field test the lockers at the quick service restaurant. The new partnership is in line with the strategy to target accessible and safe pick-up points to ensure that Makro Pick-Up fits into your everyday routine. Pick-up points that are targeted are petrol station forecourts, fast food restaurants, office parks and Makro stores. Over the next month, 10 Makro pick-up lockers will be launched, five at Sasol forecourts, four at McDonald’s restaurants and one at Makro Woodmead.
