Carlswald House Preparatory junior choir takes on music festival

CARLSWALD - Carlswald House Preparatory’s newly-formed junior choir recently participated in the Magic of Music Festival held at the University of the Witwatersrand.

The school travelled to the university to perform at the packed Linder Auditorium for charity. Grayston Preparatory School organised the event, which occurs on an annual basis, and raised R25 000 this year.

The beneficiary of the funds raised on the evening was the Johannesburg Children’s Home.

During the festivities, the choir sang three songs and performed two djembe drumming items. “The audience was stunned as these little ones sang and drummed their hearts out, receiving two standing ovations from the audience. The children did so well and loved the experience,” said the school’s principal, Stewart Tagg.

Tagg also said the school looks forward to being a part of the event next year.
