Junior College kids have fairy tale experience

SUNNINGHILL - ENCOURAGED to keep their imaginations alive, pupils at Junior Colleges Sunninghill recently received the chance to dress up as cute characters from their favourite books for the school's story time event.

The pupils dressed up as pretty princesses and handsome princes, pirates and wizards as well as superheros and animals, all for the fairy tale event.

Principal Tabitha Cairns explained that the event was a way to encourage their pupils to delve into their imaginations and explore their rich make-believe world.

“Storytelling teaches our little ones about the way life works as well as the difference between good and bad characters. In addition, they get to experience dramatic representation of different ideas and how characters choose to solve problems,” she said.

She added that storytelling motivated the pupils to enjoy the pleasures of not only the story told, but also reading.
