Help eradicate invasive plants – City Parks

PARKMORE - INVASIVE aliens at the Field and Study Park in Parkmore will become very costly to remove if not dealt with rapidly.

This according to concerned Parkmore resident, Heather Oosthuizen, who said there are bug weeds along the Field and Study Park’s river edges. She said there is also a small forest of wattles sprouting in one localised patch at the park.

Jenny Moodley from City Parks explained that a seasonal programme is underway at the park to eradicate areas of invasive species.

“The team is currently working within some of the City’s 52 nature reserves,” she added.

“We appeal to residents where possible to help in eradicating invasive species.”
