Graduation class of 2014 celebrate their achievements

SANDTON - The Varsity College Sandton Class of 2014 graced the stage of the Crawford Hall in honour of their graduation.

 

Oratile Matlapeng, on behalf of the college said the group of students received big smiles, sincere cheers and loud applause from friends, family and staff.

He added that the top 12 graduates from the The Independent Institute of Education certificates, diplomas and degrees received the Top Achiever Award as a symbol of all their hard work, commitment and dedication.

Varsity College 2014 top achievers included: Clair Pearson (Bachelor of Commerce), Nicolette Ashman (Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication), Enize Wilson (Higher Certificate in Event Management), Alexander Callum Ogilvie Macintyre (Diploma in Sport Development and Management), Marianne Katherine Holland (Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management), Kieran Grae Paulse de Vries (Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship), Kieran McCarthy (Diploma in IT Network Management), Aaashique Deva (Diploma in IT Software Development) Shahnazeen Mohamed Cassim(Diploma IT Management), Nelisiwe Zandile Sikhosana (Diploma in Journalism), Maligay Kumari Lewis (Diploma in Public Relations) and Ashmika Shah (Higher Certificate Business Principles and Practice)

“This was indeed an amazing year, especially for the Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication programme as the 2014 scholars were the first graduate group of the course,” said Matlapeng.

He said another amazing story was the one of Stewart Alexander. “He was the first ever physically disabled student to complete the degree and graduate at Varsity College Sandton,” said Matlapeng.

“Varsity College Sandton is very proud of all their graduates and wishes them much success as they start the next chapter of their lives.”

Andre Lubbe, principal of Varsity College Sandton added, “Graduation is only a concept. In real life you graduate every day. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you’ll make a difference.”
