AU summit moves to Sandton after terrorist attack threats in Chad

SANDTON - African Union leaders have moved the union's summit from Chad to Sandton after fears of a possible terrorist attack from Boko Haram.

 

This according to reports that have also stated that this information was revealed by South African diplomatic sources. However, Chad has instead, publicly blamed its withdrawal from hosting the event on tough economic conditions.

The summit will now take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 7 to 15 June.
