He is currently a judge on Clover’s Little Big Cook Off reality TV show and owns three trendy restaurants, while maintaining relationships with three daughters and being a loving husband to his wife.
In the show, Reinarhz encourages balancing the demanding work lifestyle of being a chef with family time by cooking together in the kitchen.
“I believe that the secret to a happy life is balance and, when you can’t find balance, you go to the golf course and name the ball whatever is bothering you,” said Reinarhz. “Cooking is the best way to have a family bond, whatever you do or create together. I always cook with my daughters Timorie (25), Noémie (23) and now I find that Annayah (11) is becoming increasingly interested in cooking, especially baking and pastry.”
He said he and his family use the kitchen as a space in which to spend time together, share stories and create amazing meals.
“Food is such an essential part of life and families can use it as an opportunity to grow closer and learn new skills,” added Reinarhz. He believes that allowing children the freedom to explore the kitchen and learn how to cook not only imbues them with life skills. “It also provides a space for families to stay together and balance work and life,” he said.
Reinarhz encourages families to work together to complete tasks and create culinary masterpieces. “It was a real privilege to watch how season one’s teams on Clover’s Little Big Cook Off bonded and learned from one another; there is something magical about food and how it brings people together,” he added.
Reinarhz’s passion for cooking was inspired by his mother and he has carried this tradition on in his three restaurants Sel et Poivre, Le Petit Sel and Le Sel at The Cradle.
“I always say that my passion for cooking started before I was born,” explained Reinarhz. “It is a genetic condition! I was almost born in my mother’s kitchen as she was also a chef.”
