City Sightseeing releases kids special

JOBURG – City Sightseeing Johannesburg and Soweto have opened their annual three for one Kids Special, just in time for the all the highly-anticipated public and school holidays.

If there’s one sure-fire way to keep the kiddies entertained over the holidays, it’s by hopping on board one of the City Sightseeing Johannesburg and Soweto buses.

The company runs the iconic red double-decker open-topped sightseeing buses through the streets, and their three for one special is an absolute treat because, on weekends, public and school holidays, two children under the age of 18 can travel for free on the City Sightseeing bus with a paying adult.

The three for one special begins on 1 May and runs until 15 October, giving kids and parents ample time to take a ride and soak in the history of the city.

The Kids Special also covers holidays like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Youth Day, Women’s Day, Heritage Day, the June/July school holidays as well as the September holidays, so there’ something to see every day.

Those who have heard of vibey Maboneng but have yet to venture there can try the new Maboneng Connection – this Red City Tours offers sightseers an in-depth tour of all of Maboneng’s hottest spots, as well as the Discover Maboneng Walking Tour which takes place from Thursday to Saturday.

Each walking tour is unique. Thursdays offer an insightful architectural tour; while visitors on Fridays will discover hidden gems in the district and have the chance to pick up a few trinkets; and on Saturdays there is a public art walk for the creative types. On Sunday there is no walking tour, but there are regular shuttles from the Carlton Centre into the heart of Maboneng’s famous market day adventure.
