Aloe Valley Meander Market a success

CROCODILE RIVER RESERVE – The Aloe Valley Meander Business Forum was excited to host their first country market recently, which was met with much enthusiasm by local residents.

The market was held on 19 April at the Serendipity Art Café on the corner of Gemstone Road and the R511, and it gave local businesses the opportunity to showcase and sell their wares within the magnificent setting of the reserve.

Various homemade goods were on sale by the vendors, like paintings by Jenny Mason and the new probiotic drink, Kefir, which is currently raved about by most health fanatics, sold by Bronwen del Paggio.

Del Paggio was also marketing a novel new product called the Chesa Wheels stove. This stove needs no electricity and uses specially made coals which cost only R2.

When the coal is lit and placed in the stove, it provides enough cooking heat for three hours, doubles up as a heater and is even environmentally friendly, as the ashes can be added to compost.

Other items sold at the market included books, arts and crafts, confectionary, spa products, jewellery, clothes and much more.

Keep your eyes on the Aloe Valley Meander newsletter’s website, Veldtalk, for information on when the next market will be held and also to enquire about being a vendor at their next market.
