Domestic Watch teaches ramifications of accepting stolen goods

JOBURG - Domestic Watch's Making A Difference campaign will be hosting a series of meetings in the Sandton area in April covering the topic of Stolen Goods and the crimes that surround property which has been obtained illegally.

Founded by Penny Steyn, MAD Domestic Watch is a platform which gives domestic workers and gardeners the opportunity to fight crime in their areas.

Steyn said, “Spot the error when our children or partner’s family or friends suddenly have stuff that we know they normally could not afford. What happens if you take a tea bag without permission? It can lead to taking bigger things and lead to much worse crimes.”

The Domestic Watch meetings for Sandton are as follows:

Bryanston at Christian Science Church on 17 April at 12pm.
Wendywood at the Christ Church Sandton on 22 April at 11.30am.
Hurlingham at the Rosebank Union Church on 21 April at 10am.
Hurlingham Manor at Woodlands Park on 29 April at 12am.
Parkmore at the Sandton Sports Club on 29 April at 10am.
Riverclub at the Sand Road cul-de-sac on 30 April at 12am.
Morningside at Sandton Police Station lapa on 22 April at 1.30pm.
Gallo Manor and Morningside Manor at Gallo Manor Community Centre on 30 April at 10am.
