An egg-stremely enjoyable picnic

NORSCOT – A number of chocolate bunnies were found hopping around Norscot Manor and excited young residents from Sandton and Fourways were more than happy to search for them.

The non-profit organisation, Friends of Norscot Manor, invited families to bring their picnic baskets and blankets and enjoy what’s left of the summer sun on 29 March.

Little faces were painted, eggs were hunted and there was also a colouring competition.

Organisation representative, Jo Warden, said she thoroughly enjoyed the morning. “We feel that our first community picnic was a great success,” Warden stated. “And I would also like to congratulate the two winners of our competition Kyle Hardie and Nadia Kruger.”

Both winners received vouchers for the Secret Tea Garden situated at the manor.

The mother of a busy one-year-old toddler, Carlene Bowker, also felt that the morning was totally worthwhile. “I had oodles of fun hunting for eggs with my little girl, she even won one of the big chocolate eggs,” Bowker said with excitement. “We will definitely be coming when they plan another picnic, it makes for wonderful quality time with my family.”

More picnics are indeed being planned in future, so Friends of Norscot Manor are encouraging residents to ‘watch this space’ on their Facebook page for more details on when the next one will be planned.
