Eskom, city clamp down on illegal connections in Marlboro

MARLBORO - Authorities conducted an operation in Marlboro to root out illegal electricity connections.

The exercise involved the police, Metro police, Eskom and the City of Johannesburg Region E. Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police said, “We want to stop these illegal connections as there are many taking place, and we will continue doing so from time to time.”

Maphakela added that the operations were random and took place at least once a week.

He advised residents to get connected legally to avoid trouble with the law.
