City Parks heeds the call

WENDYWOOD - City Parks has heeded the call of frustrated Wendywood residents regarding the dumping of garden refuse and unkempt pavements along certain roads in the area.

A concerned resident who wished to remain anonymous said the problem was along Edison Crescent, Bowling Avenue and the western service roads, Wendy and South.

“We have dumping of garden refuse taking place along these roads in Wendywood, and this together with the long overgrown grass and trees makes the place look untidy and filthy,” the resident said.

City Parks confirmed that the matter had been brought to their attention and that they would attend to it during the course of the week.

“City Parks is in the process of getting a contractor on board to assist with the clean-up of the streets mentioned by the resident, and the hope is that the order will be sorted by next week for the contractor to start,” the entity said in response.
