Brescia House School drives innovation on a global stage

SANDTON - Brescia House School, in partnership with Dell, hosted the Innovation in Teaching and Learning Think Tank.

Leaders in education and business sectors gathered together at the school in Sandton to share best practices in integrating technology in the classroom.

The Think Tank explored ideas around empowering educators and inspiring pupils, innovative practices, and classrooms of the future.

A panel of leaders in the education sector, along with leaders in the technology industry, were joined by Jon Phillips, managing director of Worldwide Education at Dell, for a discussion that was attended by close to 250 delegates from schools around South Africa. The conversation was also live-streamed to viewers around the world and will guide Dell’s education initiatives and provide insight at a local and national level for schools looking to deploy the latest innovations in teaching and learning.

“We were delighted by the level of participation in this event, both locally and internationally,” said Lyneth Crighton, the head of innovation at Brescia House School.

She said at one stage during the event, the twitter conversation #DoMoreEdu was trending at number five in South Africa. “We are hoping that this is just the start of a collaboration between industry leaders and those in education, driving best practice and implementing change and innovation in our schools,” added Crighton.
