Meetings Africa celebrates 10-year milestone

SANDTON - Meetings Africa celebrated its 10-year anniversary of bringing the best events to Johannesburg.

The business tourism lekgotla which is part of the Johannesburg Convention Bureau, celebrated this milestone by hosting a networking session with the media in Sandton.

Thulane Nzema, CEO of South African Tourism expressed joy at celebrating the significant milestone of the lekgotla. “When Meetings Africa was launched in 2005, we had no idea that it would grow into what it is now,” he said.

“The road to 10 years has been one full of challenges and bumps along the way, but in the end we made it and we look forward to more success as a lekgotla.”

Nzema also thanked the media for their role played in the success of the lekgotla and called for an even better working relationship in the future.

Head of the bureau, Pumla Ntsele, echoed these sentiments, saying that the celebration was a point of pride for the city council and the bureau.

“As the home of Meetings Africa, the continent’s leading business tourism expo, the City of Johannesburg takes pride and pleasure in celebrating the 10th anniversary of this lekgotla,” she said.
