Eskom halts stage two loadshedding

JOBURG - Eskom has announced that stage 2 load shedding stopped at 9.30pm on 26 February.

In a media release, the electricity supplier said restoration of power may take longer in some areas as the electricity supply system remains very vulnerable due to a shortage of generator capacity as several units are currently out of service.

The company added that any lapses in the power system will trigger the implementation of load shedding. This being Eskom’s maintenance season, they expect the power grid to remain constrained for the rest of summer.

They added, “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to affected customers and we thank all electricity users for heeding our call to use electricity sparingly.”

The Eskom media desk stated that the company will continue to provide regular updates on the status of the power system.
