Valentine’s at Hyde Park

HYDE PARK - Love was in the air at Hyde Park High School when staff and pupils held a very special Valentine’s Day celebration on 12 February.

This was followed by a Valentine’s ball on 14 February.

In preparation for the Valentine’s ball for the matrics, pupils were given the opportunity to pay R5 to wear romantic red, pink or white to school.

Spokesperson for Hyde Park High School Avril Wright said, “The pupils embraced the day with enthusiasm and had a lot of fun with a Shakespearean quote by the ‘cupid representative’ Suhail Vawda. Roses were handed out and received with much excitement by the girls and boys alike.”

Over the weekend, matric pupils dressed up and enjoyed a memorable Valentine’s ball which was held in the school hall and catered by the Grade 11 hospitality studies pupils.

Wright said, “The evening was a huge success with everyone agreeing that this was a most romantic way to enjoy the evening with their chosen Valentine.”
