TV personality Simba’s last heroic act

SANDTON - As Top Billing presenter and media personality, Simba Mhere, was laid to rest in Randburg, his father recalled a heroic act moments before he died.

Mhere passed away following an accident on 31 January on William Nicol Drive when a VW Polo crashed into his car and ended both his and Kady-Shay O’ Bryan’s lives.

Mhere’s father, Joseph, was also in the car, but survived the horrific crash.

According to reports, Joseph was sitting next to Mhere when the polo crashed into the right hand side of their vehicle.

He wanted to sit in the back, but Mhere insisted he sit in front and it was this decision that saved his life.

The distraught father also mentioned that his son never knew what hit him. ”The car rolled about three times before it stopped. Simba and Kady didn’t scream once. I think the impact killed them,” he recalled.

Randburg police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Johannes Maja, confirmed that two cases of culpable homicide had been opened.
