Metro police put a stop to window washers

JOBURG - The Metro police are expected to announce their plan of action against window washers.

This according to reports that state that Crime Line head and LeadSA ambassador Yusuf Abramjee, is waging a war against the window washers and using his Twitter to bring the issue to authorities’ attention.

Abramjee wrote to the Metro police that he has personally experienced harassment, intimidation and criminality by some window washers at road intersections, including the Grayston and Marlboro off-ramps. He added that one of his colleagues had one of her wipers broken at an intersection on Rivonia Road in Sandton.

“This problem requires your urgent intervention and action,” said Abramjee. “There are sufficient laws in place to deal with this problem, but we need implementation. More importantly, you need to please ensure they are removed on an ongoing basis.”

The Metro police are expected to announce a course of action for window washers and smash-and-grabbers soon.
