Bryanston High retains top spot

BRYANSTON - In an impressive feat, Bryanston High school was once again named the top school in the northern surburbs.

The school received the prestigious honour from the department of education at an award ceremony hosted on 31 January.

Lauren Streng, marketing co-ordinator for the school, explained how the school managed to snag the prestigious top school award.

“The award is based on the school’s academic achievements according to matric results and this is the fifth consecutive year that Bryanston High School outperformed all other schools in the northern suburbs to achieve this award,” she said.

She added that the department hosts the National Senior Certificate Awards every year, once the matric results have been released, to celebrate the schools in the district who have achieved outstanding excellence.

The school also bagged two more awards, including one for Kiara O’Connell, who received the prestigious Top Learner in the Northern Suburbs award for her academic performance in last year’s examinations and another for the consumer studies educator. O’Connell received an impressive eight distinctions in last year’s matric examinations.
