Suspect bust for 2014 house robbery

SANDTON - The Sandton police arrested a suspect implicated in a house robbery which took place in Parkmore last year.

Captain Kym Cloete, the spokesperson for the Sandton police, said through police investigation, the suspect was apprehended in Sandton on 3 February. She said the police also confiscated a silver Audi believed to have been used during the house robbery.

The suspect has been detained at the Sandton Police Station and will appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court soon.

Cloete explained that the house robbery happened on 9th Street in Parkmore on 30 July last year. “At about 12.45pm, the victim was inside her place of residence when she heard a noise and was suddenly approached by three unknown male suspects,” said Cloete.

She said the suspects had forced open the door to gain entry into the house. “The victim was threatened with a crow bar and was tied up,” added Cloete. The three suspects fled with possessions worth R12 000.
