Memorial service for Top Billing presenter
JOBURG - Following the tragic news of the death of Top Billing presenter, Simba Mhere, a memorial service will be held this week. Mhere passed away following an accident on William Nicol Drive in the early hours of 31 January.
Mhere’s car was hit by a VW Polo and resulted in the death of Mhere and another passenger in his car. The third victim, who was driving the polo, was taken to hospital but has since been discharged and charged with two cases of culpable homicide and negligence.
The memorial service will be hosted by the SABC and will take place on 5 February from 3pm to 5pm. Colleagues described Mhere as an exceptional person with much talent and a warm, generous spirit.
The service will take place at the Rhema Bible Church North in Randburg, while the funeral is set to take place on 7 February at the Rhema Bible Church North, Randburg from 9am to 11am.

Edna Mmanonyane, spokesperson for the Metro police, confirmed that the Randburg police took over the case. The case continues.
