(VIDEO) – Fake police hijack motorist

A video was posted on 22 October and shows a group of what seems to be police officers forcefully grabbing a motorist out of her car and throwing her to the ground on the corner of Rubenstein and Helios streets in Pretoria.

The witness, who shot a video of the incident, can be heard reporting it over the phone to the police as the terrified victim runs to the witness’ car for help.

Founder of eblockwatch Andre Snyman said police impersonators were operating all over which has created frustration among local residents who have developed a growing distrust of the police. He speculated, “Though there are very good police officers, these bogus cops must have internal police support.”

According to ENCA the suspects abandoned the vehicle in Olifantsfontein where officers recovered the car and the fake police uniforms.
