Grooming leaders of tomorrow, today

SANDTON - The Seed SA is a non-profit organisation that aims to groom and develop aspiring leaders who want to influence their respective communities socially.

Huzlet Sbusiso Mabasa, Amasi Mwela and Jean-Pierre Greeff are the three pillars that hold up the organisation. The three visionaries have used Sandton as their playground to meet and strategise ways to empower individuals through their organisation.

The organisation was initially co-founded in 2011 by Mwela and Mabasa. Mwela explained that he and Mabasa were motivated to start the organisation after observing the country’s state of affairs, as well as the decline in credible leadership. Greeff joined the team as the third director and completed the diverse team that now runs the organisation.

Over the last four years, the three have visited a number of schools, particularly in the rural areas of Limpopo province.

“We recognise the need to encourage and nurture our youth, and to establish a lifestyle of continuous learning,” said Mwela.

The team has identified a need for material and financial assistance to be provided to schools located on the outskirts of major cities. One of these, is a rural school in the small village of Mtititi in Limpopo where they have committed themselves to building a study centre. Despite the school’s completely dilapidated infrastructure, Mwela said the school has consistently produced no less than a 90 percent pass rate at matric level.

The Seed SA has prepared graduates to make the transition from university to the working environment. Mabasa, Mwela and Greeff have also inspired ordinary employees in various organisations to want more from their lives and careers.

The organisation continues to work on many other projects to positively influence the corporate, political and social leadership landscape. The team’s aim is to become a leading voice in maximising human potential while remaining socially relevant to communities.
