Daylight house robbery in Atholl

ATHOLL - Three armed suspects robbed a 61-year-old man at his house in Atholl.

Warrant officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police said the three suspects stormed the victim’s house at 1.30pm. “Two of the suspects carried black pistols,” explained Maphakela.

He said the suspects ordered the victim to show them his safe and firearms. “He co-operated with them and they took .38 special firearms, two wrist watches and a Rolex,” said Maphakela. The total value of all the possessions stolen amounts to R300 000.

Maphakela said the suspects jumped over the outside wall and fled. He added that one of the suspects’ firearm was recovered inside the yard next to the wall.

No arrests have been made but an investigation is pending.
