Africa Energy Indaba comes to Sandton

SANDTON - The 2015 Africa Energy Indaba regional event of the World Energy Council will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 17 to 18 February.

It is recognised as the foremost African energy event on the continent, with Africa Energy Indaba receiving the highest level of endorsement and support from key players in the industry such as the South African National Energy Association, the African Union, the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency and the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development.

With the support of these key players, Energy Indaba’s status has been elevated locally as well as globally since its inception.

Various questions will be debated and answered by nuclear experts presenting and participating at the upcoming event.

Several African nations are looking to add nuclear power to their grids such as Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Senegal and Niger. Namibia, Niger and South Africa have uranium minerals and ore that can be processed as fuel for nuclear power plants. Africa has sufficient water and land for nuclear plant construction and, compared with other regions, is relatively unaffected by earthquakes.
