Crawford College Sandton celebrate stellar results

Crawford College Sandton is proud of their 2014 matriculants who have achieved stellar results in their final examinations.

The school achieved a 100% pass rate with principal of Crawford College Sandton Morag Rees commenting, “We are thrilled that our Class of 2014 has not only maintained the amazing results they achieved in their international exams but have even improved on these! They have always been such a dynamic group and I am so proud of their achievements. Congratulations to the Class of 2014.”

Three of their top pupils Raees Noorbhai (10 distinctions), Kerri Ichikowitz (eight distinctions), and Ameer Khan (eight distinctions) were part of the Department of Education’s nationwide top 10 and were invited to their prize-giving on 6 January.

Two of their matriculants, Raees Noobhai and Rahul Fakir, achieved 10 distinctions.

Noobhai earned his 10 distinctions with 100% scores in mathematics, advanced mathematics and life orientation. Other subjects he achieved distinctions in include English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, accounting, physical science, life science, history and information technology.

Raees was also an exceptional first team cricketer, an accomplished public speaker and Young historian’s competition winner in 2012. His future plans involved studying abroad, possibly at an Ivy League School, in the science or engineering faculties adding, “I am extremely passionate about science, in both its applied and fundamental forms. The prospect of discovery and the promise of invention have captivated me since I began indulging my curiosity at a young age. I see the fields of science and engineering as an indispensable tool for us to understand our world and bring positive change to it.”

Rahul Fakir also achieved an incredible 10 distinctions in English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, mathematics, life orientation, information technology, physical sciences, life sciences, accounting, history, business studies and advanced mathematics. Rahul said that his future plans include studying computer engineering in South Africa or abroad. He added, “I’d like to be a tourist, travelling throughout the world largest cities to see how lifestyles differ from all over the world.”

Angelique Guimaraes, Kerri Ichikowitz, Alexandar Lalicic, Ameer Khan, Jason Lubner, Ryan Manoim, Duran Reddy and Rebecca Tsay obtained nine distinctions with Ichikowitz achieving 100% in advanced mathematics.

Arjun Agarwal, Nadia Absulla, Jay Cheon, Ruby Chikwiri, Christen Da Costa, Fatima Darsot, Kahla Hackner, Fathullah Ibisomi, Ivan Jericivich, Muhammad Madhi, Matteo Mazzotti, Anja Turanjanin, Thato Napo and Philip van der Merwe all obtained seven distinctions.
