SANDTON - The Sandton Chronicle has wrapped up an interesting news year in 2014.

Detailed updates have followed the collapse of the Coleraine Drive bridge in Riverclub, Bryanston. The publication continues to follow up on the renovation of the bridge by the Johannesburg Roads Agency into the new year.

A shootout on 30 October in Buccleuch between police and a group of suspects who attempted to rob a cigarette truck grabbed the interest of all media organisations and the general public. The incident took place on the corner of Maxwell Drive and Old Pretoria road after an intense car chase which led to two arrests. The suspects will face charges of attempted murder, being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and attempted robbery.

The Cell C banner that went up on Beyer’s Naude during the month of November 2014 sparked some heated debates. The banner slammed network company Cell C and their Sandton City store for poor service. The matter went to court and Cell C lost the application to have it removed.

President Jacob Zuma’s son, Duduzane, has been a hot topic following his car crash with a taxi on Grayston Drive, in which a woman lost her life. This is another story which the publication will continue to follow up on into the new year as the public will want know if the president’s son will be prosecuted.
