Best of Sandton police honoured at awards

SANDTON - The Sandton Community Police Forum hosted the Top Cop awards in Bryanston on 14 November to recognise the work done by members of the Sandton police in various departments.

Wendy Vorster-Robertson, chairperson of the CPF, explained that conducting the awards was best business practice and a way to honour those who did well.

“We are humbled to recognise these men and women because the work they do is dangerous and [often] takes them away from their families,” she said.

Vorster-Robertson added that she hoped that, by seeing their fellow colleagues honoured, the awards will also act as a motivation to other members within the force.

The awards recognise exceptional work from October last year to September this in the detective, support service, crime prevention and client service centre units, but also honoured volunteers.

Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson for the Sandton police, expressed gratitude to the forum for honouring the police and for their support.

“We are also thankful that they stopped for a moment to appreciate us. After all, we are there for the community and the best thank you is from them,” she said. The CPF appealed to members of the community to assist the forum with the work done and donate to them.

Vorster-Robertson asked residents to contact her on 083 700 2401 or chairman@sandtoncpf.co.za
