UPDATE: Cell C launch urgent application to remove billboard
SANDTON - Cellular network provider, Cell C has confirmed they launched an urgent application on 10 November in an attempt to have the billboard on World Wear Shopping Centre removed.
Cell C media liaison officer Vinnie Santu said, “Cell C confirms that it has launched an urgent application to have the billboard outside the World Wear Mall taken down. Cell C was compelled to take such action because the billboard contains the personal contact details of one of our valued employees.
“We also argue in our application that the billboard is defamatory, makes unauthorised use of our trademark and appears to have been put up in contravention of our bylaws.”
The court indicated that the case will be heard on 12 November to afford the other parties time to respond.
