Business dream comes true

SANDTON - The Maslow in Sandton has empowered a business entrepreneur to launch his car wash business at the premises in Sandton.

Hosea Makwela (36) has always dreamed of owning his own business. He received funding from Sun International, and access to business mentorship as well as support under the company’s Enterprise Development Programme.

“I am very excited to finally have the chance to start my car wash business,” said Makwela. “With Sun International’s help, I have the tools to make a success of it. I am passionate about giving efficient and quality service. My customers’ cars are in good hands when they leave them with me for washing.”

Makwela’s car wash business dream has finally come true and has been up and running since 22 October at the hotel. His team has been cleaning cars and polishing wheels for the hotel guests.

“We are thrilled to help bring Makwela’s dream to fruition,” said Johan Scheepers, the general manager at The Maslow Hotel. “Certainly, lack of funding, premises and business support hinder many would-be entrepreneurs. Through Sun International’s Enterprise Development Programme, we are able to provide him with these crucial pillars.”

Scheepers said guests at the hotel can pop in and have their meal or meeting while their cars are being treated to a spruce and shine.

Makwela will be using an environmentally-friendly car wash system called the Green Machine, which uses minimal water and eco-sound cleaning agents.

Scheepers added that as a new business-owner, Makwela will have the opportunity to have ongoing interaction and advice from Sun International’s Enterprise Development Programme team.
