Miss SA casting begins in October

JOBURG - October marks the start for the search of the next Miss South Africa.

Hopeful Miss South Africa participants are invited to attend casting sessions at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton on 26 October.

The search has begun to find a new ambassador to replace the current Miss South Africa, Rolene Strauss when her reign ends in March next year.

Other open casting days are at Grand West Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town on 4 October, Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom in Durban on 11 October, and The Boardwalk in Port Elizabeth on 19 October.

Registration begins at 8am and entrants are advised to arrive early to avoid the queues.

The winner of the Miss South Africa title will receive more than R1.2 million in prizes. The judges will be looking for someone with charisma, the quintessential South African girl-next-door who is not afraid to speak her mind and is passionate about her country.

The contestants will need to bring their swim wear and sarong, an interview outfit, a copy of their ID document and matric certificate. Entry forms and a photographer will be at the castings should they be required.
