Fines issued to contractors on Stan Road

BENMORE - The Johannesburg Roads Agency issued three fines to contractors on Stan Road in Benmore.

This following complaints from motorist and Benmore resident who was concerned by the traffic congestion in the area caused by a construction site on Stan Road.

“The roads agency has not issued a way leave for all the activities on Stan Road in Benmore,” explained Bertha Peter-Scheepers, spokesperson for the roads agency. “When the roads agency and Metro police arrived on site, three fines were issued to different contractors that were on site.”

Peter-Scheepers added that the Metro police also gave instructions to have the road cleaned as well as the sidewalk.

The resident said the construction site had taken up all the space on Stan Road and made it difficult for motorists to drive on the road.
