Be warned, crime season is around the corner

SANDTON - The festive season is fast approaching and crime will be at residents' doorstep.

Clive Humphrey, the managing director of ADT Central Region said no one wants to think about security when they are having fun, however, criminals are aware that functions and parties generally mean easy pickings and easy targets.

He suggests community members bring in a casual security guard when having their year end event or party. “Sometimes the mere presence of a security officer is enough to deter would-be criminals,” added Humphrey.

“In addition to their armed response and standard perimeter security such as electric fences and CCTV, more people are taking the additional and wise step of investing in a security officer to patrol their home or property to ensure that all is in order.”

Humphrey stresses that casual guarding is also a great solution when community members are having a party or function at a home or business premises. “You can hire a security officer to watch over your premises and vehicles while your guests enjoy the party,” he explained.

He further stressed that access to armed response is imperative. “Our ADT security officers are highly trained and residents are equipped with a panic button which is linked to the monitoring centre. This gives the officer, and therefore you, access to immediate armed response whenever necessary.”

He said casual guarding is ideal for anyone who is looking for additional personal and asset protection, as well as peace of mind during the festive season.
