Junior Colleges celebrate heritage

SANDTON - The students, staff and parents of Junior Colleges Sandton celebrated South Africa’s cultural diversity by having a special Heritage Day picnic on 23 September.

Spokesperson of Junior Colleges Christelle Wolmarans said, “Heritage Day is a day created by South Africa to celebrate the rich cultural traditions and diversity of cultures and beliefs that makes up our nation.”

The parents, children and staff of Junior Colleges Sandton enjoyed an entertaining Heritage Day family picnic. Everyone participated by dressing in their traditional attire and food from different parts of the world was laid out on a table for everyone to enjoy.

“Our little ones were able to learn about different traditions and beliefs. A diversified day was had by all,” said Jenna Axsel, principal of Junior Colleges Sandton.
